Narrative Art Virtual Exhibition - Review.

25 International Artists from 14 Nationalities participating with 66 Artworks curated and organized by Art4You Gallery, is a Virtual exhibition broadcasting from Dubai.

The Artworks range from portraits to landscapes to recreations of some fabulous works by renowned artists presented via a global medium. The layout of the exhibition is well structured with each wall space dedicated to every artist and the use of Art Placer as the virtual exhibition space provides enough room to explore and appreciate the collection. It is with a lot of ease that you can navigate around the virtual space and also allows you to preview the Art using Augmented Reality in your respective areas.

It is extremely difficult to pick only a few from the exhibited works hence this review will highlight art having prominence with the current times. The link for the exhibition will be provided at the end of this review.

The collection presented by V.Vasandan in this exhibition are the most thought provoking and eccentric artworks. The artist’s dedication and appreciation for the practice of Meditation and Yoga are the predominant subject for his collection.

Cow & Mother – Pinnacle of Meditation is 45 x 27 acrylic painting on Canvas.

The center of the painting is the source of energy proliferating to every corner of the canvas. This figure is in a state of meditation while the surrounding realm continues to thrive. The culmination of this energy is the bond between the mother and the offspring, and the subjects representing this bond is the Mother cow and her calves. Vasandan was inspired by the Culture of Tamil Nadu (& different parts of India) where Cows are worshiped as a Deity. The influence of the city is evident thought-out the painting. Even though the technique is close to Surrealistic; this work is created in a state of awareness and evokes high consciousness as opposed to the use of this technique to tap into the sub-consciousness.

Spreading the Power of Meditation is another form of Abstract Artwork created on 81 x 63 paper using Ink as the main medium. This work strikes the balance between defined lines & techniques, to free flow. Initially the artwork will give you a pretense of abstract but on closer exploration you will realize that this work is indeed a calculative design of geometry & strokes. The binding discipline to rhythmic movements of various energies is the pinnacle of this artwork.

Horizon is a 62 x 90 mix media art by Sapna Iyer.

Experienced in the world of art, architecture and design, the artist has managed to use all the knowledge at her disposal and created an emotionally driven semi-abstract artwork revealing the chronicles of the landscape. The limited & saturated color schemes and the use of mediums to create impastos further leading to enunciating an all-embracing effect of the painting. This artwork turns out to be more symbolic in its representation, as the reflection of the sky and the roughness of the land reckons the long and tough road taken to reach this point.

Roa Al Madani’s artworks have always been stunning and never fails to grab attention.

From the overall collection, Individuality is one of the finest works in the exhibition. The painting is created on a 100 x 100 square canvas with oil paints as the main medium.

Using realism techniques with contrasting background brings the vivid image to life. The painting is a representation of today’s reality - the influence of materialistic pursuits versus the fight to keep one's originality intact.

Each strand of flower represents an individual with its driving need to look perfect and live a perfect life which is completely different from the ground reality of trying too hard to fit in a bunch, losing its identity by assuming a superficial façade, hollow from the inside.

Black Cockatoos is an awe-inspiring, 100 x 42 mix media on canvas by Tressina Miedecke.

The artwork highlights the declining population of Black Cockatoos. Being an advocate for conservation of endangered species, Tressina plays an active role in drawing attention to various subjects using her artistic talents.

Her previous exhibition, which is mentioned in the earlier article, has also showcased beautiful important species of our ecosystem at the verge of endangered or extinction. The clear contrast in design and shades of the lower and upper frame of this artwork further emphasis the Artist’s intent.

Even though her collections are dedicated to sensitive subject; the emotions of the painting are always filled with hopes and wonders as their inspirations comes from artist own experience and reminiscence

In support of conservation, 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this painting will be donated to the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre in Perth, Western Australia.

Special mention to works by Arrachme and Dr. Kazem Khorasani.

Arrachme's collection are landscape paintings with unrealistic quality meant to evoke a positive response. As a contemporary abstract artist, Arrachme's exhibited works revolves around the notion of one element existing in different forms. She has chosen landscapes that almost entirely originated from one's dreams and imagination.

Dr. Kazem Khorasani's artworks are heavily inspired from the archaic calligraphy scripts. Dr. Kazem is a graphics, design and calligraphy artist, whose admiration for the manuscript using decorative form to signs, refined with gold, to vocalize the composition makes the collection truly remarkable.

The virtual platform chosen for this exhibition allowed many artists coming from different places to showcase some amazing works and interact with one another understanding and sharing their styles and inspirations. Congratulations to participating artist and the curator Jesno Jackson founder of Art4You Gallery to provide this unique experience and help strengthen the art community.
