Exhibition Review - Now/Never Expression of Colors

This is no secret - in everyday life we are expose to massive amount of information. From the time we begin to understand our surroundings, we set about filtering the most important and relevant information to us. Now imagine this filtering process is no longer in being and you experience all the happening around you with an emotional response.

The Doctor by Lulu Odeh beautifully represents the surge of emotions in response to every individual, situation, facts & figures, leading to the mind creating its own parallels & compelling us to push against the confines of our own making.

Lulu is an interior designer whose love for art led her to invest in the creations of her own.

The elaborate and calculative stokes provides the glimpse of the intensity and magnitude of the portrait's instinct reactions to his surroundings. Shades and strokes of Dark with hints of light shows the good overshadowing the grim tones, sentiments that keeps us balanced. Even with strokes beyond the set boundaries our mind will conjure, you will still feel there is room for more to experience.

From Light to Shine, exhibited artwork by Ruxandra Mocean showcase the innermost response we all, some point has or are going through. Ruxandra’s experience and her love for this craft, have played a key role in creation of her collection – Precious. ‘Tears are the Distil form of Onces Emotion’ in words of the artist, with the believe that every tear is recorded & every act of patience is reward. Use of colors depicting precious stones and elements giving the raw and rough texture to the paintings incorporates artist’s words to view felicitously

From shine to cry for help, “Nature is a true Art” by Hannan Bazargad focuses on the constant degradation of our land we plan on leaving to our future. The name for this beautiful piece of work is an intriguing one. When we hear the word ‘nature' we immediately recall lush green, bright colors, scenic beauty, well this is the other side for the coin. Few years down the line we will see more works in similar lines describing nature with a hint of nostalgia. The sludge greys are showcased using rough texture, trapping the light just as you move from one end to another making you appreciate artist vision with pockets of greens representing the leftovers.

Hannan’s Golden minds is an abstract tribute to the word success.

Growing up with the concept of success and successful has shaped how we think about the word. As we grow with our experience, we now are coming to terms with this - success is fleeting. You will achieve what you desire in small moment and clusters of the overall episodes in your life. The controlled nature of lines closely represents the underlining elements/obstacles we overcome to reach our goals.

From reality on land to Sea life, Artist Tressina’s collection highlight the important role sea creatures play in the ecosystem of the Ocean life. Her works are inspired from her childhood memories and teaching of sharing two different worlds in balance. All her works incorporate sustainable and ecofriendly materials and natural based colors. Deep Blue acrylic painting on canvas brings you closer to the ocean with so many beautiful elements, from vibrant colours to textures, to beautifully capturing sea life, this work truly elicit peace within you.

Every piece in this exhibition curated by Jesno Jackson of Art4You Gallery is to marvel on, from Andrew Scanlan’s Pixelated Portrait Works which not only shows his excellent techniques but also his vision and patience to Kumar Chadayamangalam Mix Media art & Cathy Deniset Golden Moon representing our beautiful and diverse city to all the participating Artist.

In this writer’s opinion, some works required more room to experience the art and artist's collection. The proximity of works led to focus move from one work to another leaving less room and time to truly appreciate the amazing collection hosted at the exhibition held at Picasso Art Gallery from 10th to 18th June.
